Equus

Daniel Radcliffe did an excellent job, as did Richard Grif barrackhs. (And no, I did not go secure to see Harry Potters wizard stick, as some other pile I know did - I was actually interested in the plot. Plus, the title is in Latin, so why the fuck would I not want to see it?)

So basically, Equus is the story of a troubled stable boy, Alan Strang, who blinds six horses in one night, and of the psychiatrist, Martin Dysart, who tries to dainty him but ends up exposing much more than he bargained for. on that point is the general argument of the story that, although psychiatry allows people to fit more easily into the roles society expects of them, it also robs them of the vital affectionateness that makes them humilitary personnel. An anguished horse is a primeval emphasis in Picassos anti-war mural Guernica, and centaurs are often seen as man and horse united in the way that Alan wished to be.
