Civil War Paper

During the Civil War many people were suffering. People were decease from both sides and the sol go againstrs needed a reason to continue fighting. This seemed to be a big problem for the south. There were many songs create verbally to try and boost the morale of the soldiers of the confederate army, though it wasnt enough to keep the troops fighting, it tells us a humbug of what was happening during a very troubled time in our race.
The south was mostly fighting for the freedom to continue to suffer slaves, and keep white supremacy alive. In the anthem highborn Southern War Cry it states, Southerns all, at freedoms call, for our homes united all, free men, live or freemen fall! Death or Liberty! This is trying to show the soldiers that every matter is about their freedom. If they quite, they will fall behind everything they are working for. Their families will suffer and their lives will careen if they dont continue forward. It is better to die than to omit their rights. Southrons to Arms! Is also trying to tell the soldiers the same thing by saying, die for freedoms sake, die for the right (June, 1862)! If the soldiers do non believe in what they are fighting for they will not continue the fight. So many songs and anthems would tell the soldiers that it is better to die than to quite the fight.




The biggest issue in the fight seemed to be over owning slaves. The enrollment of new soldiers seemed to be dwindling and men were go away instead of coming. The Brokers Stamp Act elegy let citizens know what was coming next if the young men stopped enrolling to help their cause by saying, What next I wonder? Nigger troops or some such abomination; as niggers being our equals in the states and in the nation (1862). This may have worked for a little while besides it did not make a huge difference in the enrollment of soldiers for the fight.
